Sunday School Outreaches – Project Hope

Sunday School Outreaches

Programmes

Every Sunday we have groups of volunteers who attend to four different venues in the Northern Areas. Here they present Bible-based life-skills programmes and provide every child with a nutritious meal.

Helenvale:

In Helenvale, we rent a classroom at the Helenvale Primary School where we teach life-skills and provide 80 to 100 children with a meal every Sunday.Greg and Michelle Blignaut, together with a team of eight volunteers, faithfully attend these outreaches and help address the needs of our Helenvale children.

Chatty:

In Chatty, we rent a classroom at Chatty High School and provide life-skills training and home-cooked meals to between 50 and 80 children every Sunday. Linda Jantjies and her team of four volunteers say it is their privilege to be there for the Chatty children.

Booysens Park:

In March 2015 we opened a new venue at Booysens Park High School. On our first day at this location, we had a staggering 155 children attend, which highlighted the immense need in this area. At the moment there are between 80 and 100 children attending every Sunday. Richard and Clearice White head up a team of six volunteers who provide meals and life-skills training to our Booysens Park children.

Our life-skills training incorporates fundamental teachings, such as respecting yourself, your parents and your community.
